Once it came in I followed the instructions that it came with, deleted the old software first, removed the battery, opened up the WiFi card compartment cover which was easy because it only has one screw and then removed the old WiFi card by removing one screw and removing 2 cables to pull it out. My best guess is this module is newer than my laptop which is circa Fortunately, Amazon and the seller agreed to refund, hence the 5 stars. This item arrived well packaged, but as an electronic component, I felt that it looked suspicious.

I have an older HP desktop, and recently the wifi stopped working. I suspected that this item was the problem so I did a search and found this one offered on Amazon.

When it arrived, other than the well done outer packaging, it was in a plain little plastic bag with no indication of its origin. That's what made me suspicious.
